A Tech Tradition

About The Blueprint

For more than a century, the Georgia Institute of Technology's Blueprint has been publishing annually, with its inaugural volume released back in 1908. Produced entirely by a dedicated team of students, this publication chronicles the significant events that unfold throughout the academic year, encompassing a diverse array of topics such as sports, student organizations, and campus culture.

The Blueprint looks to return this year as the ultimate documentarian of student life at Tech after going into hiatus in 2018, creating a timeless volume of capturing cherished memories that will endure for a lifetime.

Dear Georgia Tech, thy name we'll wear,
Thy fame we'll e'er uphold;
We'll give the honor to the Engineer,
And rally round the White and Gold.

A storied history

It all began in 1908.

The first volume was published for the Georgia School of Technology, as Tech was known at the time, featuring sections on the history of the school, the classes, sports, fraternities and advertisements. Sections were broken up with poems and illustrations inserted throughout the book. The first Editor-in-Chief was John G. Chapman. The Blueprint is the oldest student publication on Tech's campus.

Blueprint is a part of the Georgia Tech Board of Student Publications, which includes the Technique, North Avenue Review, Erato, 3484 and the Tower. The Blueprint shares its office with these member publications in the Student Media Office (Suite 2150) of the John R. Lewis Student Center.
